چکیده
Recent work in the area of Obesity has confirmed that Obesity is a state of low grade chronic inflammation and is associated with increased levels of TumorNecrosisFactor-α, a pro-inflammatory adipocytokine, which plays a key role in the pathogenesis of Diabetes. In this study we analysed the interrelations between TumorNecrosisFactor-α with anthropometric and clinical variables. The study was carried out on a total of 100 subjects attending outpatient department of General Medicine, Narayana Medical College, Nellore. Serum TumorNecrosisFactor-α was measured by sandwich ELISA method and insulin by chemiluminescence method. TumorNecrosisFactor-α was significantly elevated in diabetic cases[215.18+ 119.58] compared to controls[p= 0.0001]. There was significant positive correlation between TumorNecrosisFactor-α and Body Mass Index. TNF alpha levels were significantly elevated in obese than in non-obese diabetic subjects. Our results suggest a possible role of TNF-alpha in the pathophysiology of Type2

Association between Serum Vitamin D Level and Glycemic and Inflammatory Markers in Non-obese Patients with Type 2 Diabetes
Background: Low serum 25-hydroxy vitamin D (25(OH)D) has been shown to correlate with an increased risk of type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The objective of this study was to investigate the association between serum 25(OH)D and glycemic and inflammatory markers in non-obese patients with T2DM. Methods: Eighty-four non-obese patients with T2DM were recruited in this cross-sectional study. Demog...
متن کاملINVESTIGATION OF METHYLATION OF TNF-Α GENE PROMOTER IN PATIENTS WITH TYPE 2 DIABETES
Background: Type II diabetes is a chronic inflammatory condition that is associated with a combination of genetic and environmental factors. Tumor necrosis factor alpha or TNF-α as an adipocyte cytokine, which affects the signaling pathway of insulin, can contribute to insulin resistance in type 2 diabetes patients. Considering the importance of epigenetic changes in multifactorial diseases, th...
متن کاملAssociation of Inflammatory Mediators with Coronary Artery Disease in Diabetic Patients
Background and Objectives: Coronary artery disease (CAD) is regarded as the leading cause of morbidity and mortality around the world. Diabetes mellitus (DM) is associated with the development of CAD and increased risk of morbidity and mortality. The goal of this study was to assess the association of tumor necrosis factorα (TNF-α) and high sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) with CAD severi...
متن کاملTumor necrosis factor- α, adiponectin and their ratio in gestational diabetes mellitus
Background: It has been suggested that inflammation might be implicated in the gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) complications, including insulin resistance. The aims of the current study were to explore maternal circulating values of TNF-α, adiponectin and the adiponectin/TNF-α ratio in women with GDM compared with normal pregnancy and their relationships with metabolic syndrome ...

Background: The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of concurrent training on pre-inflammatory (IL-1β, TNF-α) and anti-inflammatory (IL-10) cytokines gene expression in women with type2 diabetes. Methods: 18-patients (age30-38, >130 glycemic index) were selected, randomly, and divided into control (n=6) the concurrent training(diabetes, n=6) and the concurrent training (healthy...
